I have an A7N8X, there are some sound problems with this board, but I fixed them by using the realtek codec rather than the nforce codec.

I also had problems (and still do) getting the CPU to run at the correct speed, so beware of that.

What version of the A7N8X do u have? and which pcb revision?

I've got the deluxe version and the 2.0 PCB revision and I can't say i've had any problems with sound or processor speed settings on my board

note the < (less than) signs...

i've been doing some research of my own and found this:

(www.overclock.co.uk, cheapest I found...)

Asus A7N8X Deluxe Gold - £89.08
was going for the non-Deluxe version, but this is only £10 more expencive and now you've mentioned some probs, I think its a better option.

AMD Athlon 2500+ Barton - £60.42
OEM version.

Vantec Areoflow VA4 - C7040 - £24.93
It got a good review at Tom's Hardware.

And some other stuff, just because...:

Thermaltake Smart Fan II - £9.87
80mm, constant, heat controlled or manual speed.

Mitron 'Unreal Tournament' 80mm Grill - £4.63
:D Its drillin' time...

Grand Total: £188.93

Way below my guess-ta-mates...

Any feed back welcome.

PS: My dads lending me some RAM.

You may not mean Micro ATX - that's not standard case size - it's one of "Small Form Factor" motherboards. You may want the Standard ATX size :)
