Guys,

Birthday coming up soon (hint hint ;) ) and was thinking of replacing my knackered keyboard.

looking for something simple and straightforward (like me). Any recommendations for a nice quiet keyboard. Doesnt need to be fancy.

Any suggestions on USB over PS2 ?

any suggestions welcome.

Budget around £30 mark - but may go higher.

£30 on a keyboard? Surely the only difference between a £5 keyboard and a £25 keyboard is a bunch of buttons at the top that no one ever uses, unless you get one of these or something, but I'd feel like such a fool using one of those.

well, £30 was a guide price. I was looking for something plain and simple originally, like this :

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfoZoom.asp?WebProductID=105047 for £12.33
But there are others (2-tone) like this :

corded/cordless usb/ps2 and was looking to the masses for ideas.

My inclination is to go for a PS2 k/b for 2 reasons :

1. Frees up a USB port
2. Currently having issues recovery wise where USB is "recognised" during bootup.

£4.32 for this fine keyboard

You can get them as cheap as about £1.80 but they seem a little on the naff side.
