Apple have managed to create one of the best phones available and are now extending it to the iPod itself. Both are so close to being a full blown PDA... apart from the fact you can't run the software you want on it.

I'm surprised they haven't bothered going for the PDA market with something between the iPhone and the iPod touch. These devices have an interface which puts most other PDAs to shame, yet they're still quite restrictive over what runs on it.

Weird. So, the iPod Touch has the biggest screen but only has 8Gb or 16Gb, making it the least useful for storing video, whereas the classic has up to a whopping 160Gb, but the least useful screen. What's all that about? A more cynical person would think Apple were trying to get people to buy two iPods, one with all that whizzy touchscreen, wi-fi and safari stuff, and another for actually storing stuff. Of course, they'll finally combine the touch screen and decent storage in another couple of generations of gullible fanboi purchases.

8gig and 16gig?! WTF?! You build a gorgeous iPod with video, wifi, etc and you only give me 16gigs?! I've got 40+ of music, and god knows how much more in video!

And what about bluetooth? Where the F* is bluetooth?! My 40 bucks with activation SE phone comes with stereo bluetooth for god's sake, so what's your excuse?

Bleh I'm going to be sick. This is like getting the car of your dreams, but they only offer it in hot pink with zebra print seat covers.

No they haven't. The best phones available don't have a list of issues as long as my arm. If you haven't heard them they are

- Poor battery, which can only be replaced by Apple themselves.
- No custom ringtones
- Bluetooth only works on the headset
- No stereo bluetooth (on a music phone, really?)
- You have to pay Apple for any applications you install (on a smartphone, really?)
- No voice dialling
- No 3G
- No MMS

And those are just the ones off the top of my head. I could get into software issues and the limited web browser, but I think you get the point. I'll stick to my high-end Walkman phones I think. W960i is out in 3 months!!!
