Ive been using a Leadtek 660GT for over a year now. No problems with it. Currently using standard Nvidia drivers 77.77. Maybe worth giving them a try.

I would start saving for a new gfx card. It looks like the memory is starting to go, or its over heating ? You aren't overclocking your card are you ?

What make is it? have you tried using proper nvidia drivers? and what temps is it running at full load? Also Is it AGP or PCI-E?

Doubt it has anything with the memory, some drivers are just not that good to run daoc with.

I suggest you upgrade your drivers to the latest NVIDIA drivers instead of using OMEGA drivers.

Omega drivers are kinda yesterdays news atm.

I suggest going with the official nvidia/ati drivers for now.

The problems you see are quite common especially for ppl with overclocked cards. And Nvidia in particular.
ATI ppl get occasional gfx bugs also most are driver related, but some occurances of seeing terrain in wiremodel mode areknown to occur.

it's a XFX AGP 128mb.
i've tried a few sets of drivers but getting the same results :( (yet to try the most recent nvidia ones, will do so asap)
im not trying to OC it or nething n it's brand new so shudnt be any memory probs, i hope

ive been reading up and it seems that there's some kind of thing between SiS chipsets and the 6600GT card, ive tried updating it with no luck. ive also been told to try and turn off fast writes but i cant because my bios version is so old it doesnt have that option and i have to pay $69 to update it through phoenix technologies site, kinda sucks

im really stuck on what to do :|!

looks like goin back to my 9600pro and returning it
i've always had problems with Nvidia, ATI never had one :(

If you switch from Ati to Nvidia you have to be absolutely possitively sure that all the Ati drivers are removed from the registry. It's common that Ati drivers will conflict with other drivers even you uninstalled it properly.

Try to look for Ati cleaners on google or something.

ok this is being a bitch now

i uninstalled all my drivers and got rid of everything thru driver cleaner and installed the latest Nvidia drivers

now whe i play there are no artifacts all over the screen but instead every now and then stuff flickers on the screen, like the cloak on my character will dispear for a mili secondand the textures will stretch out for a second then go back. this i could live with...

but after playing for a while the bloody game now crashes locking up my system (cant alt tab) but the sound still plays

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wtf :<<<<

dont seem like overheating, it's running at 40C and and about 55C in game

Hello,

First of all, we invite you to go on the following website in order to download the update files for your video card drivers:

http://www.ati.com/support/fr/driver.html

Once you have saved the file on your desktop, right-click on your desktop, select “properties”, then click on “settings” and then on the button “advanced”, in the tag “adapter”, click on “properties”, then go on the button “driver” and choose “uninstall”, and then validate.
Once the drivers have been uninstalled, restart your computer.
Once you are back on the desktop, don’t let Windows installing automatically the drivers, and choose “cancel”.
Launch then the drivers file and restart your computer again.

Then, you should reinstall direct X 9.0c here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...20-BFBB-4799-9908-D418CDEAC197&displaylang=en

If you have a VIA chipset, go on the following website for your mother board in order to download and install the Hyperion4in1 drivers:

http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=300

Also try to settle the Windows display mode on 16 bits mode if you are on a 32 bits mode.

If you have a device for it, check that the temperature of your video card doesn’t exceed the functioning “normal” temperature (refer to your card manual).

If none of that has resolved your problem, try the following modifications:

1) On your video card:

- Deactivate the antialiasing or anisotropic options
- Lower the frequency of the refreshes for the display
- If your video card is on the AGP port, change its speed in the BIOS (change it in x4, x2 or x1)

2) On the game:

- Try different resolutions
- Lower the settings in the graphics options menu (water options, Clip Plane Distance, shadows, ...)

If one of these settings solve your problem, thanks to inform us. Thus, we could avail the community of this solution.

Regards,

Maybe doing some of the options they suggest but with the update Nvidia driver may help.

Doesn't the website of your motherboard producer have updated bioses for your motherboard?

Also, can you list your entire systemspecs? like:

MOBO: Brand - Type
CPU: Brand - Type
Mem: Brand - Type
GFX: XFX - PV-T43A-NDD7 OR PV-T43A-NDF(3,7) (tbh can't see any difference between the two but xfx's website lists them as different cards)
PSU: Brand - Type - Rail/Voltage listing (as per sticker on it's side)
How many HD's and/or opticals and to which connection (ATA (big wide connector) or SATA (small connector, approx 1.5cm wide and .5 high)

In my case this would look like:

--------------------------------------------

MOBO: MSI K8N Neo-Platinum
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0 GHz, 128kB L1, 1MB L2, clawhammer core)
MEM: 2x Dane-Elec 512MB PC 400 DIMM
GFX: ASUS V9570 /TD
PSU: Antec True380S 18A@12V, 35A@5V, 28A@3.3V
HD1: Seagate 250GB ST3250823AS 3.02 @ SATA1
HD2: Seagate 120GB ST3120026AS 3.18 @ SATA2
OPT1: DVD-rom: Sony DVD-ROM DDU1621 @ Primary Master
OPT2: CD-RW: Lite-on LTR-40125S @ Primary Slave
OPT3: DVD-RW/RAM: LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4160B @ Secondary Slave

Using onboard audio and network card

--------------------------------------------

Now the HD's and opticals aren't that important, but the PSU IS quite important 'cos I got a feeling that you might have a tad too little juice for your system :)

300W PSU, According to a list I found somewhere:
18A@12V, 30A@5V, 28A@3.3V
Max 180W @ 3.3V & 5V combined

Does sound a bit low to be honest. Couldn't find much info on seasonic at all, which makes me think it is a good quality psu because otherwise the web would be full with complaints in no-time ;)

Did you buy that pc at a shop called Dynabyte?

Try rivatuner, that may well have an option to disable fastwrites.

tried it, no luck
i've gone off the fact thinking it was fast writes now. im more drawn toward the fact that i need to set the AGP size in my bios to x8 but i can't, no option

Foxeh - couple of things to try before you get rid of the card and spend it on wobbly-juice :drink:

1) Check in your BIOS and tell me what the AGP write speeds / Aperture sizes are set at. As a general rule of thumb you want to have the aperture size as large as possible but not exceeding the amount of system RAM you have (not graphics card memory). Have a scan of this :http://www.tweak3d.net/articles/aperture-size/index.shtml

2) In relation to the AGP write speeds, most mobo's will auto adjust themselves to the optimum (maximum) setting that the card will support.... however some cards will only run at certain speeds (x4, x8 etc) and if they conflict with you are in for some bumpy graphics processing. As a general rule of thumb mobo's will deal happily with anything on the card that is lower than them (ie 4x mobo will happily sort 1x, 2x and 4x etc etc)

3) You will find that if you have some problems in the AGP setting then although the graphics will display, the kind of problems that you are experiencing are typical. Without changing the card for one that is more compatible with your mobo the problems won't change.

4) HOWEVER - if you do find that the card auto-adjusts and it is compatible you can change a few things in the windows settings to try to make it run a bit better. Here we go...

a) Check that the page file setting you have is set for double your physical memory (right click my computer->properties->advanced tab->performance->settings button->advanced->then click the change button and set the amount to 2x physical memory. Restart your PC
b) Sounds daft, but defrag the PC and clean up the hard drive to allow as much free space on the processor/gpu when dealing with files
c) Click start->run->msconfig. Check what programs start when windows does and remove any that are not needed (like quicktime/office findfast/adobe quick read etc). If you are not sure, check the web first before you remove it.

5) Last thing to do is get the biggest PSU you can afford. I have a 600W PSU (Ebuyer, £14-99) and it is the best thing - makes my system really stable and I have quite a few things running on it without a quibble.

6) Try using the graphics drivers from a couple of releases ago. Sometimes the absolute latest ones are a bit buggy, so try rolling them back a couple of months and try again.

Just for the record, I have Athlon 3200+, N400-PRO2 Mobo, Radeon 9600 Pro with Arctic cooling unit, 2 x IDE HDD's, CDRW, DVDRW, internal lighting kit, led fans etc etc and it runs like a dream. Windows XP Pro sp2 formatted with FAT32 (don't need NTFS as I don't need the security settings at home, and FAT32 has been proved to be a little bit faster for gaming)

Hope this helps - bit of a long one I'm afraid!!

i think ive got it....

in one last attempt to fix it before i took it back in tomorrow i did a little more googling and came across this thread:

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=1159&st=20

this post was what seemed to fix it for me:

"i run a 6600GT AGP card on an Asus motherboard(SiS chipset) and tried this fix, while it did help on some things, it borked others(video media mainly) with the 6x.xx series drivers, which the only 6x series driver that did anything for the artifacting for me was the 67.03, but it caused crashes too desktop more often than any others.

i dumped all the fixes here and simply turned off write combining in the dispay properties/settings/advanced tabs. now i run with the 81.98 drivers with zero problems, no artifacting, no crashes, no freezups and all my various media players work as intended.

admitedly, i take a VERY small performance hit from not having write combining... but thats where the bug is at... the 6600GT AGP doesnt communicate right with the SiS chipset's agp hardware."

write combining, who would of known ? !!!

i get no artifacts now anyway, im gunna overclock this baby see what it can do :p
