Reminds me of the old folding Game & Watches.
I suppose Ninty are competing against the Mobile Phone gaming market now which is why the styling is like that.
Still - a backlit GBA is a Backlit GBA - so I will definitely buy one (provided I can use my Flashlinker in it still)

Love it
I absolutely love it... such an amazing design and so small. I have never owned a Gameboy before or any handheld system but that is just so nice have to get one for playing on the train, just a pity I will have to wait till almost April though.

I'm just hoping they follow through with the mooted upgrade path for current GBA owners (IE: £10 (or whatever) to give in your old GBA and get the new one).

tho i will be buying an SP... and now that it's backlit i'll be catching up on ALL the games i've been meaning to get but haven't because the gba was a nightmare without a backlight.

There was no mega announcement. It turned out that everyone else was announcing something so someone started a rumour that Nintendo had something big to say as well.
