I'm trying to develop my first game. (Not a Mod.)
It will be text based (but not IF) so I don't need to worry about graphics.

I was wondering which programming language I should use.
I can't spend any money so I'll have to download something. I know a bit of C++ and a lot of QBASIC. I could probaly try learning another language but I'd need some help.

My main problem apart from which lanuage, is which editor. For C++ I have Bloodshed Dev C++ but my QBASIC compiler seems to have gone missing from both my Hard drive and my windows CD. I really need some advice. Can anyone help me?

1 - go with what you know
2 - C may be far too overpowered for what you want, but hey, it's been done before
3 - text editors own j00
4 - gcc is a good free compiler that can be made to compile lost of different things too

I suggst Python because it has a semi funny name
