first 2 were RPGs , third one was a shite squad game. basic story is.. you went into a bunker, nuclear war occured, you came out, and have the save everyone else in the bunker . second one was based in a little village somewhere. think baldurs gate, with mutants and chain guns basically :england:

hehe yup. remember the kids in , er, New Reno ? , that were taken out cos europeans werent allowed to kill children, so scary disembodied voices would come over and steal your stuff. get the mod file, put em back in, as they walk towards you, tear them to pieces with gatling lasers... aah so much fun.
and other classics like getting the "pornstar" title from working in golden globes.

Yeah, i got the version way back where everything was in the game still.

Brother played it by killing EVERYTHING. Didn't even bother with the storyline.

Though ultimate combo was unarmed combat maxed out and the, err, brutality(?) perk Roundhouse splatter!

Also, pornstar had to be done first so you could get the boxing title too.

Oh and the new reno families, gees, took a dang while to get the order right so you would get the secret base and all unlocked.

My favourite bit in the whole game is when you walk up to the old drunken guy who's had a nervous breakdown.. and you whisper in his ear:

"Ghosts, Carl, ghosts... they're everywhere. Look behind you, there's one now!"

I usually killed 'em all anyway. But the one thing you have to do, is to do jobs to the family that lives ...east? of new reno. The wrights i think. They'll send you to the sierra army base. Cool stuff there.

Then you can do the rest of the families and ...well..kill 'em

Couldn't remember if it was the last quest or not, it is, so don't become a made man or piss off the wrights before gaining access to this base.

Basicly should do other family things(not to the point when you become a "made man") and then just do all the wrights.

now I just hope that my favourite weapon of doom is in there, also known as "Jinx". Nothing like watching a whole town of freaks fall over their own feet killing each other left and right :]

For what Fallout is about:
It's a "Post-Nuclear Role Playing Game", so the setting is abit like the Mad Max movies, just with a touch of the '50ies (if you see a nuclear explosion, hide under your desk!). And black humour, lots of it... and then some.

only problem with this is, it worked with grainy isometric sprites, if they up the gfx too much, it will suffer from GTA syndrome

Yeah, kinda makes me wish isometric would make some sort of a comeback

3D games are cool, if done well, but isometric and sprite GFX give so much more...freedom.

Found my old CD's. Installed Fallout 2 (1 doesn't work on XP ). Started it up and took a glance...and damn. It's even better then i remember

Graphs are still cool, the character creation alone, first temple...aah...i think i'm in love again.
