New Dr Who revealed

Sure there was an old friend about Dr. Who on here somewhere but couldnt find it using the search engine.

Anyways so its revealed and I'm really suprised at the choice and think its a bloody good one! He's a damn fine actor and its made me think about the new series in a different way - him coupled with the writing team...hmm interesting. Could be very dark.

What you reckon?

As long as they don't go for any kind of American feel or styling (like the last dodgy return of Dr Who), it should be good.

But knowing the BBC, and their current trend of destroying potential; it'll be a pile of balls.

He played the second coming so this should be a doddle!

Suprising and I've no idea what to expect, there was always a hint of comdey in the character (reflected by the, new, writers). I'm not sure I've seen him do any comedy.

Blimey. Eccleston seems overkill for a role like Doctor Who, but if he's up for it then good stuff. I can't see him being available or willing to do a second or third series, though.
