Oooh!

/me downloads

Those last ones were unreliable under Win2K. These should fix that, and they're the second release that supports WinXP, so I'm expecting to see a difference, ppl.

What crashing problems? Latest drivers work fine on my XP?

Sure it's not an ACPI Advanced Power Management problem? XP is a lot harder on BIOS code if it isn't written a certain way. What does your Event Viewer say?

was a prob when closing q3 or cs

if i closed normal way itd freeze trying to get back to desktop. Alt tabbing, ctrl-alt-deling works fine though :)

Quite a few peeps have had this too, plus reading about showed that the 21.81 dets were a bit fudged.

Still waiting on drivers..... 2k a sec :(

The last dets showed really good benchmarks for XP. Allegedly this is because they now have direct access to the XP kernel, which is related to the Xbox stuff but I heard from someone who claims to know NT kernel coders that this has decreased stability a bit, much like whem IE6 got direct access.

Dammit! Twice I've downloaded these drivers and twice the file has become corrupted. Anyone else?

Something's amiss...

the 21.81's totally wiped out all 3d graphics for me in XP even the Aquarium BSOD'd with em, these new ones seem fine even if that MadOnion benchmark thingy still BSOD's :/

heheh even the most hardcore winblows user should realize that a pc with apps that crash for the famed 'no reason' is far from 'fine'.

unless random crashes are a terrific step forward [stability wise] compared to how it was before.

don't mind me ;)

I got the 12.83 and ran a test using Win ME and 3dMark 2000 v1.1

v12.81 = 3206
v12.83 = 3171

I stuck my 12.81's back on and got 3198 so I got a net loss of 8 marks for trying out the new drivers.

Nvidia are unbelievable. This is what actually happens at their driver meetings:

Bod1 - These drivers are as buggy as hell.

Bod2 - Great, lets give them an official release.

Bod3 - What about those other ones that seem to show a greater improvement in stability.

Bod2 - Feck'em.

Bod1 - I'm gonna have the T-bone steak for lunch.

Bod3 - Hey, why don't we call you T-bone then.

Bod2 - I think that about wraps this meeting up.

For the record I still use the 12.90's which were never officially released by Nvidia but were, strangely enough, by MS.
