I'm in love with the Samsung ones. I can definitely recommend them. Those new 19" with 2ms are really good.

Looks like Stardock's "WindowBlinds 5.01" is the main bit of kit you need.

i've got a modded desktop, even though i dont mod myself. I use the nonstep theme(nonstep.litestep.com/), wich uses a combination of Stardock's Windowblinds and litestep. The skinner have also made winamp and trillian skins, avaiable at that site.

Windowblinds ONLY mods the way the standard xp theme looks, so u cant get any additional flashy things with it, just change the way the start menu, the window skins etc look. Windowblinds does have a trial version, but this won't mod all the things the retail client will mod, for example it won't change the way scrollbars look. As a result you will get a very noobish look in windows, so i would suggest on getting the real client. If u are gonne buy it u might wanne test the trial first though ofc.

Litestep is a pretty old app i recon, but it works with my windows XP anyway, and but since it is acctually freeware (atleast i think it is :p ) the support and updates are limited. Litestep however will replace the explorer skin entierly, and comes with a standard model wich most modders keep to, but it a hell lot more functionable than the standard. I am not sure how far u can mod using this app, but it is good enough for me :p

Then Stardock(the ones who are selling Windowblinds) have a whole bunch of applications and utilities(sp?), such as DesktopX wich make u able to place small "gadgets" on your explorer desktop. However imo u wont need this using Litestep.

Ofc this is not all of the applications there is for modding, but it is osme of the ones used most. There are two places except google i use for finding new themes, one is deviantart(http://www.deviantart.com) and the onter one is wincutomize, wich has already been mentioned. Will post a pic of my desktop, when i get home, at work atm =)

hope that helped some =)
