Ok, a few weeks ago i d/l'd 3dMark2000. I watched in amazement at the graphics, then at how shit my computer handled them. I got to the end of the tests and i got a whopping 900 marks (lol) with 2000 i got 3000.
Anyway, I have a Celeron 400 and it is shit, I need a new CPU.
At first i wanted to go over from intel to AMD but looking at my cash situation i thought no, i can't afford a new mobo aswell, than i got thinking "but will i need a new one"
The celeron is socket 370 and i wonderd if any socket 370 CPU would go in there. Is FSB a problem? I know the celeron is 66mhz or sommit stupid like that, if i got a P3 800 and it was over 66mhz FSB would it still work albeit at a slower speed. (fuk knows what speed my mobo is, i can't find any info on it, no manuals since i got my comp free from my dad - he writes programmes and he asked for a new monitor so they sent him a new comp, his was better so he gave me the comp and i use his old monitor)
I can find out but i don't know if this is an issue.
Right what i basically want to know is if i can stick a p3 800 into my comp w/o buying a mobo ontop of that which will also require a new case since mine is small and a new one wouldn't fit (gasp).
I would take my comp to a shop to get it fitted since i don't trust myself but it would be nice to have a little bit of info.
