new couterstrike update

Before the new counterstrike update i found i could edit the autoexec.cfg file in my counterstrike directory to make some modifications ( like the anoying team select and wepon select menu's) now it has been updated i find that there is no autoexec.cfg file in my counterstrike directory, i made a new one, but that didnt seem to have any effect, without this file it makes binding difficult and i would love to get ride of those stupid menu's, does anyone have any idea's??

Just copy your old one into the cs folder and edit that

i have an Autoexec.bat (net/graphic/misc settings) & i have a Jobbie.cfg ( weapon alias's & key binds)

if your autoexec.bat doesn't load up, just add a line to your config.cfg "exec Autoexec.bat" also type this in the console, i find sometimes that any changes wont happen untill you do this.

i dont use an autoexec personally but typing exec auto..blah blah would do my bonce in, just bind a key to it

Just bind it in your console, exec autoexec.cfg, or even better just add the bloody changes to your config.cfg.

yes, but commands in your autoexec.cfg take the form

bind x impulse201

whereas commands in your config.cfg take the form

bind "x" "impulse201"

you need to enclose the key/command in quotes or it wont work.

okay, thanks for that, i did understand the first time, i think but being told twice is always good cause im a right newb. why did they have to change everything i was happy the way it was, i had no problems. (thats a retorical question i know why they updated)
