i seem to have spotted a new cheat, or possibly a old one but admin mod + the HD scanner dont catch it!

The player can transport himself all over the map, even when dead (but cant shoot when dead).

This wasn't on a bw server. but just a warning to show that the servers arent completey cheat proof!

Just to add, I saw a cheater last night, Mystic G banned him (thx for that), he was wallhacking, but the really wierd thing was that he would occasionally run really quickly, I mean F A S T.

It wasn't lag, because the transition from normal to fast was instant. And there was me thinking that the speedcheat was a thing of the past.

yeah i saw that at the weekend, speed boost,

it seemed to me that just a press of a key and he ran double the speed, and it defnitley wasnt lag, he was doing it all over the map on purpose.

the gimp was kicked, but i think there are a few hardened cheats out there, i once kicked a player for wallhacking, i kicked & banned his id also, but withing 2 mins he was back giving us all abuse and laughing, so i kicked & banned his won id again, and guess what he re joined the server for a 3rd time with another different won id, he just said FU then left.

some sad ppl out there.

And by the way yeah, there is a new cheat out with a speed boost. Custom hack or the whole bundle downloadable from those silly CS hack sites.

Sigh, wish I could actually be able to say I've 'seen' these people, but at the moment ISDN is playing up something chronic. Me and Buffs have only been able to play past midnight with reasonable pings (below 150). I dunno what's up with BT, may have to beat them with my schlong soon though

The speed hack was never fully stopped, it still is doable but not as fast as before. Or so the cheat makers say, but its easy to spot. It comes with the latest OGC 7.02 afaik, is a toggle style bind which would explain the on off running speed.

I'm waiting for someone to hack OGC so It perfomrs a /kill whenever a cheat option is enabled.

well anyone with any coding knowledge can get a geocities site and embed a trojan into "ogc 7.4 l33t h4x version".

within a few days thousands will be infected and you can fuck all their machines up beyond recognition.

then someone will find out and your site can close nicely
and you can make another one in a few weeks.

thatll hurt the cheats

Its a rehash on an old cheat, its identifiable (iirc) by the fact that before they speed up they should switch to the knife, then they'll run quickly for 2/3 seconds then pause.

But its definatly back out there

I think what they should do is, get some people, to download all the cheats which cause mayhem, then make a demo or somethin of what they look like when they're been used, then chuck them up onto a site and inform people... just like that ANTI HACK Cheat thingy site i posted.. which somehow on he very same day magically disapeared..... lol

There are a couple of movies like that floating around and they make for very informative viewing. I can't remember the URL, but a few minutes with google should point you in the right direction.

The problem is that the people demonstrating the cheats in the video are doing so in such a way as to show off OGC's features, whereas I suspect that most of the genuine cheaters out there are far more cautious and use the cheats only cautiously and for short periods, so as to reduce the chances of detection.
