New char for RVR

I'm currently playing as a Friar which i really enjoy PvE but i seem to be a bit useless when it comes down to RvR, generally people are dying quicker than i can heal and i very rarely actually go toe to toe with someone i can match dmg wise. I'm thinking of creating a new char and really like the idea of steath, what'd be the best choice for me?

Hmm, your friar should be able to toe to toe with most other classes, depends how you've specced it. As a Friar forget rejuv and healing, leave that to the "smite is gimped" generation of rejuv clerics. Just spec enhance and staff and you will melee really well, especially if you can convince your enemy into thinking you are a caster ;)

If you do play a stealther, try an infil in Alb or a Shadowzerker (Shadowblade using Axe and Left Axe) in Mid. Don't try a NS, they blow goats.

ANother thing to try (I will get round to it soon) is a Longbow and Stealth specced Scout. The Longbow really hurts in the battlegrounds, and with good stealth you can just shoot, restealth, shoot, restealth. Looks like quite good fun.

I must just be unlucky in that i normally seem to come up against tanks. I did over exagerate abut not being able to match dmg though as i have killed a few. He's specced 19 staff, 11, rejuve, 14 enhance and 6 parry (this may be a bit out but staff and rejuve are defo right). Don't get me wrong i really like this char and it will always be my main its just after getting slaughtered by so many stealthers i'm curious to see how they play.

I'm pretty decided now after a bit of research to roll a Saracen Scout, gonna up str by 8, dex by 5, con by 10 and qui by 7 then go for some sort of long bowing stealther spec, not decided on exact route yet. It all looks very nice for RvR but how do they fare in PvE?

My lvl 24 template will be like this:

20 Stealth
21 Long Bow
11 Shield
12 Slash Or Thrust (prob slash)

I will get shield and slash up to level first to help me PvE and then go up equally in Long Bow and Stealth.

Keep your bow up to level even in the low levels. Your bow is your friend :) Bow is your defining skill.
Your melee is not as good as a tank and you have lower armour - you don't want to rely on melee.
With your bow you should be able to take down blue and most yellow mobs before they even get to you. Some melee skills to finish off any last few % of health for those mobs that you miss once or twice.
Leave stealth out until ready to bump it for the BG.

If it was me I think I would put 10 points into my dex aswell instead of 5 - Dex is for blocking, thrust and (i think) Bow skills

It is for bow too but the base for Saracen is 80 so i didnt think it needed to go much higher.

Got to lvl 5 last night and had a few shots with the bow, is it normal to miss 75% of your shots and only be able to get one off before having to go to melee? My bow skill is 3 or 4 but i'm looking to bring it up more in line with my lvl.

no it isnt, but are any chars good at lvl 5?

later on you will miss less and be able, at time, to kill low oranges

You are using 'Crit Shot' for your first shot as well I hope - makes a lot of difference :)

75% miss is very high - probably just because your low level and your bow skill is low. Should find it is no where near this level. Also keep your bow yellow/orange con and try to get player crafted with good QUA as it makes a lot of difference to the damage you will do.
