Guys,

As per this thread, Im in the hunt for a new car.

looking for something <=185 CO2 output and a family car to boot.

Currently have a Toyota Corolla and need this new car as either primary car or just for me to/from work :

at least 1.4l
5 doors
at least 5 seats
diesel / petrol

and sensible recommendations?

Urgh. Having driven a 206 van for 3 years, I'm betting you will grow to hate this car. Especially if you have size 10+ feet.

If you're not one of these morons worried about image too much, look at a Skoda Fabia.

1. Hella cheap to tax
2. Hella cheap to insure
3. Very, very good reliability
4. Very, very good fuel consumption
5. Don't actually look that bad - especially if you find a black one ;)
6. Shift quite well too.

Indeed they are roomy, plenty of room for 5 folks and your luggage for a dirty week in London, etc.
