New camera, need info quick

Yes this should be in the tech forum but replies in there are slow and often pointless.


I'm after a decent digital camera for around the £150 mark, it has to be 2-3 megapixels, I would like some movie recording ability also.

Any ideas/reviews

Sony DSC-P71 is what I've got. 3.2MP and does videos (no sound) upto 320x240. It's quite a nifty camera, and should be around the £150 pricemark. I'll look about.

edit: Or not, they don't seem to do the P71 anymore

To get an idea of models etc have a look on Jessops. I've run a search for you of camera's (all brands) from 2-3 megapixels and under £150.

Also, shop around because places like Jessops will price match. I managed to get a fair amount off my camera by price matching it.

POWERSHOT A300 DIGITAL CAMERA
3megpixels, 3 mins video and 158 quid

and gotta buy the creative jukebox 2 (only 10GB HD though :{ )

Moomin you can kiss our collective arse.

Every post in the hardware forum gets answered within 2 hours and while we don't know everything, we are a lot more helpful and polite than the answers youll get in this forum.

we go out of our way to help people, searching newsgroups, web articles even the dreaded ms knowledgebase for hours to find possible solutions.

Jonty is quite happy to spend his own time searching and researching on bits of hardware for anyone and gives, In my opinion, detailed and unbiased views on pieces of hardware.

For you to say that we are slow and pointless is frankly quite insulting, if you werent quite so lazy and had the intelligence to use google you wouldnt have to rely on people like us to answer your (pointless and subjective) hardware queries.

From now on don;t expect any replies from me you ungrateful little shit.

Couple more considerations I guess...

Fuji A204 and Nikon Coolpix 2100 are good if you want 3x optical zoom and some digital zoom chucked in aswell.
