Hey Guys,

Looking to replace my old decrepit digital camera with a swanky new one.

Currently have an HP 812 4.2 MP camera which, while it takes some really crisp and clear photos, has too many "downsides" to mention.

1. Battery life is a farce. Can make about 10-15 shots (without using the rear screen) before the thing shitsdown

2. Shutter speed. Takes about a second fromtaking the phot to the image being captured. Looking at one that does it a whole lot quicker than this.

Any advice on cameras which people already have/have had in the past.

Not looking to spend a fortune on a camera - heading for Florida later this month and was going to pick one up over there.

Reckon on £200 MAX for the pricicles.

It depends what you're after from the camera really.

Super Compact:

Canon IXUS 40

Compact with Performance:

Nikon Coolpix 5900
Canon Powershot A95

Super Zooms:

Fuji Finepix S5500
Olympus C-765
Konica Minolta DImage Z3

If I was going for the best overall camera from those I'd probably go with the Powershot A95. If you're after a super zoom then the DImage Z3 would get my vote.

You're best off checking a few cameras on DPReview.com to see example shots and reviews. You may find one on here not mentioned that suits you :)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Nos again.

Thanks Nos,

The Ixus and the A95 are catching the eye at the moment
