Nice winter bike, congrats!

Did you get 10% off the 10% off the 10% if you ordered 10% within the next 10 days which expires in 10 days?

Ribble emails make me smile.

I got the special edition but with Tiagra groupset, cost was just shy of £600.

Odd quote on Bikeradar - 'if you are prepared to forgo some of the kudos of a flashier brand name.' Do they mean the emergence of loads of trendy new types rather than the extremely well known and respected Ribble brand.

Either way, nice.

I'm loving my new Boardman, when I get the chance to get out on it. The reviews for that were spot on. Fantastic bike, dodgy staff selling it :D That's got quite a few Tiagra bits on including the shifters, and they are lurvely.

meh, brand names aren't that important to me. My current road bike is about 30 years old, made by Mercian in Derby.

The Ribble is lovely, really nice paint job. I had a look in Evans's on the way home to see what they had, but to be honest, most of the bikes in the same price range were way below the Ribble's specification, and were a bit....plain?

I'm looking forward more to the ride from Bamber Bridge tbh :)

Its fantastic, the bars are a tiny bit low (I may invest in an angled stem), and the rear mudguard is rubbing somewhere (that may be the moulding bits on the new tyre).

It soaks up so many bumps its untrue, compared to my 30-year-old steel-framed Mercian that is :)

Hopefully with this bike I can get back down to my ideal weight, which has crept up over the last few years. Then I can really spend some money come next summer :)
