New BF1942 Liaisons

Hi all,

Well I got quite a few applications for the job and the decision was difficult but we now have our two new liaisons. they are:

Scooba Da Bass

and

adams901


Scooba Da Bass because he applied first and was most keen to take on the role, and is very keen to get organised nights happening again and move things forward. Also because of his acceptance of some criticism of previous "enthusiastic" behaviour on the servers due to his competative streak which he is toning down

Adams901 because of his wealth of experience of gaming and admin roles at other GSP's. He brings a mature touch to the role and an understanding of how communities work. He also quit his clan to focus on the liaison role which shows great dedication.

So all that remains is for them to go on and get on with it!

Thanks to everyone who applied. Though just becaue you aren't the liaison doesn't mean you can't get in there and help organise gaming nights and promote the servers!

Please support the guys and give them both a chance in the role. Of course any criticisms or complaints about the way the liaisons perform their duties can be sent to me or posted in this forum. But please give them both a chance.

Thanks for the nod in my direction, any ideas regarding the servers, or our roles please feel free to post or come and have a chat with either of us on IRC in #bwbf1942 we've got a nice little community in there and I hope to see a few more guys in there regularly.

One idea that I have seen work, in order to generate a more community spirit, on other forums is a 'Big Scrum'.

Rather than a straight clan match, which is very competitive, the idea is that you start a thread for a time somewhere in the future, reserve a server, and members who express an interest are then assigned to one team or another in advance. One persons draws up the tactics and allocates a role to each participant. In practice we have usually ended up with components of two clans on one team versus another a team of allcomers on another.

Provided people avoid the TK'ing and Base Camping which gets up people noses, it can give you a chance to get to know your fellow team mates better.

I am sure I will get flamed for this idea, I usually do, but hell, I'll keep piping up none the less.

No, that's a good idea, and one I had thought about before, the only problem I could see is finding someone to take charge of both teams and sort out tactics and take charge in games. However, I'll certainly make a thread about it, and hopefully people will volunteer.

I didnt notice this thread for some reason, so forgive my delayed reply.
Nice one Scooba and adams on the liason posts, particularly Scooba , who puts in a lot of effort in getting people on the servers, which is after all the most important thing .
