Well.. I've decided my good old pooter is finally dying, and it's about time to get a new one, but there's one problem: I haven't read a PCFormat or 'owt since sometime last year, and I was wondering what to look out for, what's the benchmark PC for most games? Any specific graphics/sound cards to look for?

I have anywhere up to £1000 to spend, though the cheaper the better, I'm only 16, dammit!
