New armor pieces bug

Don't sc new armor pieces with only 3 slots! From Sanya's grab bag:

Q: The 5th bonus on the new player crafted gear is not affecting me, why is this?



A: This is a known issue that we’re working on, just FYI. Right now, items must be fully spellcrafted (i.e., all four slots filled) before the fifth slot bonus will affect characters, according to our Item Wonder Man. Watch the patch notes for the fix.

why would anyone do this from the beginning?

At a guess - when reading enchantments, the program goes through the slots til it finds a gap, at which point it thinks it's found the lot. This will work for all crafted items, all drop items, but may now fail if the new bonus is always slot 5, but the other 4 aren't all filled.
