We're starting to see why nVIDIA are scared of ATi. Radeon proved they could write decent enough drivers. Give em til after Xmas (when I plan on getting mine) , and we should have a pretty kickass card on our hands.

You may prefer ATI Bodhi but don't try to boost ATI up to number one.....no one else will believe it

Will tide ATi over nicely until they get Radeon 3 (developed by ArtX, the people who made the Flipper chip in Gamecube) out the door.

OCUK have a 8500 for 220 quid, 60 quid less than the Ti500 thay have. A more powerful bit of hardware for 60 quid less, not hard to work out really is it?

The reviews I read say that the drivers are tweaked to give better benchmarks at the cost of quality, and that ATI "cheated" with the q3 benchmarks.

If they dont fix that with the official drivers I may get a gf3 out of principle.

That wasnt a tweak, more of a bug, as the drivers weren't interpreting the Q3 texture slider properly. It was fixed in the drivers released on Wednesday. Lost them 1 fps in q3 timedemo 1. so it went from 190fps to 189. Shucks!
