Never knew I was cheating !

Last night when I got on to a CS server I noticed that F1 and F2 keys no longer worked, as I expect most people have. Anyway, I thought Id try re-execing my auto exec, to see if I could"override" the new commands. HLguard then said something to the effect that "throdgrain{KEA} is trying to cheat by using a banned cvar blah blah". I think it was to the effect that i was trying to have no textures or something. It didnt kick me but it was quite embarrasing, known paragon of virtue that i am
As I downloaded this exec straight from Barrysworld about a year ago, and has only been modified by me to the extent of adding aliases for buy scipts etc, I wonder if anyone else has had this, cos perhaps we shouldnt let people download the exec anymore ??

Anyway, Ive found out what it is i think. According to CSNation, valve have stopped people execing files from the console, so thats the answer I reckon, although how that makes them think I was trying to have no textures, or indeed why anyone would want no textures, is still a mystery to me

I use yuckbot version 7.235g beta.

It allows me to die first in every round, seems to be going undetected so far, fingers crossed

its HLgaurd, the command must be in your config, i had

gl_max_size 256

In my autoexec.cfg, when i executed it it also said the same, i also thought wtf?? Charly sorted it out for me, he typed the command into the console and it said the same for him,

i tried a few others and found it did it with most of the gl_ commands

gl_alphamin is another one that gives this message,

they are not cheats just helpful commands to raise your FPS, for some reason HL gaurd doesnt like them.
i had them in from way back when i had a slow pc.

just remove the lines from your autoexec and it will be fine

tbh my exec is still working, as the buy scripts still working proves, but just dont exec it I suppose.
Annoying Ive lost F2 mind, it was for MP5 + armour, which is all I can normally afford lol
Oh well just have to give it a new key I guess...

well ive decided to ditch my "F" Keys for my Buy COnfig, for the Keypad Keys, little harder coz ive used the F Keys for months heh

i used it for my Buy Config, F1 upto F10

Yeah I used F1 for buy deagle/armour and F2 for buy MP5/armour.
Ill have to reassign MP5, but Ill not bother with the deagle one anymore I never use it.
PS You need a scrpt to do this leg.

i used F1 for DE & armour F2 for USP & armour

yes, im the laziest cs player ever, i even have Hehe & Grr binded, its true

throddy, just open ur config and change the binds for the mp5 etc to new keys.

my binds were exactly the same as urs m8 F1 for DE and F2 for MP5
how do u re-enable them m8????

Have a search for "gameUI.dll" and change it to "gameUI.bak".

Then you are free to use F1 and F2 again.

IIRC the gl_max_size adjustment can be used to lose textures so you get a wallhack. Basically it exploits a bug/limitation in some drivers. Old cheat.

You know I can honestly say I've never tweaked CS beyond keyboard mappings & rates. I've never tried a cheat of any description. Totally squeaky clean...
