hi, i downloaded pro evolution soccer 3 the other day and it has a big massive netgraph along the bottom of it, i thought fine i can handle that, but now i just reactivted my daoc account and i get the same netgraph in this program now, it wasnt there previously ofcourse. Is this a windows setting or something? how can i get rid of it :p

http://www.btinternet.com/~morrices/netgraph.JPG is a picture of it in daoc.

hmmmm seems you dl'd more than just soccer ...

try typing msconfig into the run command and see if there is anything in the start file that shouldn't be there .. and running steam while you running daoc is asking for trouble .. it just dl's when it feels like and zaps your bandwidth.

try removing the soccer from your hdd .. but i have a feeling that you might have to trawl thro your processes *googling* the ones you don't know to try and find the culprit and then tracking down its .exe to remove it.

Basically something you have installed had added something to the system which is creating this. Download adaware and spybot search and destroy (google for the links) just in case it's something malicious. Check the processes running too via task manager and try removing them one at a time, eventually your system will crash, but this can help find the source of the problem.

(edit) and oh yeah, don't run downloaded ripped off software from the net you muppet.
(edit2) just looked at the screenshot again and there are two pricesses I can see running which i don't recognise from any system i run.
In the bottom right of the image with the taskbar what is the black and white icon on the left and the pie slice shamed one on the right?

the black and white one is steam the file delivery service from valve for games like half life and CS. The pie shaped one on the right is the driver /service for the frog speedtouch adsl modem .. I have had both at some point in time.

dont think there is anything horrible there .. but maybe in the the rest of the covered ones .. u never know.

and pps dont download stuff especially if you don't know how to get rid of problems you might get ;-)

Edit : mmmmmmmmmmm pie

What he said. People get paid to write games. Would you work for free? No, so don't take other people's work without paying for it.

only other thing could be some background software measuring the fps of games and putting up a graph... again it's hard to say without seeing the system. Need to see a dump of the processes...

And, yes.....

mmmm pie.

Good morning, uninstalled pes3, tried running adaware aswell as spybot search and destroy, no joy there with getting rid of it. Also tried removing some(all i think) of the unknown startups in regedit, no joy there too.

Running steam in background is fine as its getting its bandwidth limited, but yeah its a nightmare if it wasnt :)

Here is the sshot of processes as req http://www.btinternet.com/~morrices/processes.JPG

gearsec? DVDXCopy
Netlimiter? Stops programs hogging bandwidth (ie steam ;-) )
shstat? McAfee
dragdiag - adsl modem
pstrip - somesort of overclocking video card thing
daemon.exe - cd imaging maybe etc etc..

try to turn them off one by one :)

Cant see anything there apart from the pstrip that might do what you seeing .. try running up daoc and when the graph thing on the screen look at the processes again and see if there is anything different other than game.dll which is daoc.

pstrip is PowerStrip and has nothing to do with it.
