Apparently there's a new type of music player which focuses on the new format (flac?) that you apparently need to buy a "pono player" to experience. Thoughts?
I don't see it taking off, I can play FLAC on my phone after all. I would think that smartphones have taken a huge chunk of the music player market and it was a risky one to venture into nowadays. Their selling point seems to be the quality of the reproduction thanks to the fancy circuitry inside, I guess that will get the audiophiles excited.
well, that is kind of smart, what they do with the two output jack thing setting up a balanced circuit. I'm not sure if I like the idea of having to buy a two-jack headphone to enjoy it though. as to "pono share", egads man, I had two different walkmans that did that like...20 years ago!
Is this player the Toblerone shaped thing? Saw it on Gizmodo ages ago. Seems a bit old skool to me, but I guess there could be a niche market for it, but I don't know why you'd buy this over a Sonos system.
