I'm a space nut, watched the landings live, read every book, the Mercury astronauts were the real deal, Neil was the quiet one and the way he conducted himself after the mission made him an outstanding human being, his lack of public appearances made him so much more special.
We have just lost the first man to break free from the planet Earth and step on another world, that's it, never to be repeated, his name will be in the books in a 100,000 years.
