Yeahy, get down to Essex, to get informed by the in-laws that my neighbours in our 6 flat block has decided to put in a complaint.

Bloody hilarious, complaint that there is too much noise from our lamanent/wooden flooring.... such flooring that doesnt even exist in our home which has TWO layers of carpet. lol.

So much fun when you got to go to the family lawyer and take a harrassment case up against neighbours because they are twats that cant drive, reverse into your car and then sulk when they got to pay for repairs!

Is there such a thing as a "good" neighbour? :p

not in essex no afaik, and I used to live next a family of retards which was painful at times.

Ah, should have been clear. I live up near Glasgow, down in Essex for a couple of weeks for my Nephews Christening. Not a surprise that the complaints come when we not there. lol

Yes there is.
My next door neighbour's laptop was struck down on Tuesday by the Vista Total Security malware. I managed to:
  • backup his My Docs folder
  • factory reset his machine
  • apply service packs and updates
  • install Avast
  • drop the files back into his My Docs folder
I spent maybe 6 hours on it with most of it spent in file transfers or download. I'd say an hour of actual hands-on work.

I handed it back to him on Wednesday morning and he couldn't be thankful enough. He's now going to mow my lawn whenever he mows his own lawn this summer. :)

Our neighbours are all pensioners and out of the 7 people (5 other flats, so a couple of couples) there are 2 people that are ok.

We do nothing to bother them, however one set of them been stirring shit ever since they crashed into our car and broke our axle. Almost had to take them to court via our insurers. It now seems they are cutting out one of the other people there that is the only person that really worries if we are ok or not, and guessing it because he feels we are being victimised because we are younger then everyone else.

Unfortunately with the current market state the property is probably still over £50k below what it should go for and thus needs to be held onto. Annoying situation.

Dont help we are in a "snobby" area, well sought after etc.. but due to the snobbyness they think everyone should do as they say no matter what. lol

When I moved into my place, neighbours was one of the first thing I had a close look at. It does not hurt at all to visit the properly/drive by at a lot of different times to get a better perspective of noise and aggravation levels. May seem over the top but bad neighbours can turn a dream home into an awful place to live.

We paid a bit more and moved into a flat in a nice little cul-de-sac in a fairly upmarket area. It is absolute quiet - I only see my neighbour once or twice a week and because most are career-orientated and young family folk there is no music playing till the early hours.

Well worth it to invest a little more into rent & research - the cost constraint will be more than made up by the utility gains and the lower stress.

I dunno what those new huge pylon/lights are for on the beach, but its funny to see people stand next to them and take pictures. And yeah the donoughts with cream and jam are nice but will probabaly increase your chances of getting diabetes by quite a bit they jump dump em in a sugar box :p

We quite frequently hear our neighbors having sex but we do it twice as much abck so I can't complain. I think the woman who lives to our left hates me. She's a doc who works nights and one saturday morning I set off our fire alarm for about an hour after I put bacon in the oven and forgot about it!

The women to my left makes me heave when i see her.

She had 2 visits from the headmaster of her young kids (3 of em) primary school because they never went. They're like 7,8,10 or something around them ages.

She got fined like a grand.

Her back garden is a fucking disgrace. No shit the whole of the garden is covered in bin bags full of general waste from the house, rubbish and shit.

She said that she cant afford to get them removed and theres 4 of them in the house. Theres 4 in ours and the garden is nice.

All that shit will attract rats and fox. Pisses me off the daft cow.

Shes got a proper screw loose.

She also once asked me to get her 200 valium or tamazis.

So i avoid her as much as i can.

Rant over

People were able to switch them on and off with their iPhones lol.

Also you seen the dying palm tree's between the seafront and the westcliff casino. It's as if they wanted to see how bad they could make a palm tree look lol

Plenty to look forward to on our visit there it seems... lol. Not decided yet if it a wee trip to Rayleigh just to get out for an hour or so, or go down to Southend for a wander. Had the fun call to the factors today, they state that they cant say who made the complaint so they are waiting on our lawyer now getting in touch with them. lol

My neighbours are lovely. Family of 5 and they're all really friendly. Only time they verged on annoying is when their burglar alarm went off one night at 1:30am and the bloke knocked on my door to ask if I could come and help him check his house for intruders.

I was wearing a dressing gown and boxers and he had a huge stick - guess who had to go first.... For the record I'm not big and nor do I have muscles. If there had been a thief in the house the only and advantage of sending me in first would be blinding light caused by my pasty legs relecting moonlight in their eyes.

Yeah well from the Sealife centre to the pier/high street its all nice and flashy/tacky :p with the arcades and all, and its like they've forgotten the rest of the beach. I know they probably wanted something for the visiters at the olympics but I just think there's more to a seafront than who has the biggest and brightest lights surely :)

Only problem in ze new place is that there's some fixing upping in another apartment, which means a lot of drilling and banging.

Not that kind of drilling and banging either :(

i cant really be bothered to hate my neighbours, i live in the city so noise is bound. Besides i like having firecars and police go by my window all night. noise when i needa sleep, i can dig it.

Although the guy under me has a shitty taste in music at times.

My neighbour is a sociopath. Does things like call the council and tell them we were converting our house into flats when we were just putting in a new kitchen.

He also tried to ban cars from our road when we needed to get a delivery in. He also (god now I think about it the list is actually endless) goes bonkers when people paint their doors different colours or even a different shade of the same colour since he wants the street to look all the same.

One guy painted his garage door white and now he won't talk to him.

The worst part is he's not really my "neighbour" neighbour he just a guy who lives accross the street. My actual neighbour is very nice.

My neighbour on one side is mental, her husband is disabled and in a wheelchair and cant do anything for himself, and all she does is get pissed and scream and shout at him. She tells him he's a waste of space and to fuckoff

I have to listen to it every now and then through the walls. The other side are great but the nutters are the one attatched to me (semi-detatched)

I spent most of 23 years living next to the same set of neighbours. Fortunately we got on with them so it was nice. Moved down to the coast 3 years back and found that we got on with the neighbours here too. Then one set of neighbours moved out of the country and we rented their house (We were in a flat and live in a little courtyard thing with 4 flats and the house)

Now the neighbours liked our landlords and didn't want them going so since we've moved in they've been cnuts. Nothing overt, just dirty looks and making noise late at night when the girl child is asleep. Thank fuck we're moving again soon.
