Never played hib, so please be nice :)

1. Do BMs autotrain in anything ?

2. What is the best rear-positional style ?
Revenging Blade, Wasp's Sting, Back Crush, or Snow Shower ?

bm's don't autotrain, and why a rear style? go for the cd side style with it's follow up bleed style

PF combined with good (most damaging) rear style shall work good, IMO :D

1. No

2. Revenging Blade ---> Brilliant Blade imo.

If you're a blunt/piercermaster I would recommend Snow Shower ---> Thunderstorm (don't use gale because its same damage cap but Low defence penalty vs the high defence bonus of thunderstorm. The crappy bleed isn't worth it imo)

No matter what weapon type you spec get pf asap imo. In the mean time just spam snow shower on your target to keep it snared.

Ask Miril/Culnanan - only shieldmasters I know.

There's not really a big difference between shield heroes and shieldmasters.

BM get advanced evade 3, tw, flurry and charge to compensate for moose and scale armor. Even though rf armor is best in most cases in rvr I think :)

Yeah, but the main problem of shieldmaster is switching between shield and offhander.

Anyway, tell me, how it was ?

What was your spec ?

My spec was 44 blades, 42 shield, 34 cd, 31 parry, so that i could use shield and dual wield well. I decided to switch back to full CD spec because its just too hard to switch from shield to dual wielding (you have to use the inventory to do that). If you want to make a shieldmaster, roll a hero imo, the lack of mastery of blocking is a real disadvantage.

I respecced a few months ago, missed the killspam that came from fighting with 2 weapons!

Shield was very viable, with only 16+15 CD (and DR1) I found I still did plenty off offhand swings, just really crappy CD style dmg but I used pierce styles anyway at the time :)

Does shieldmaster own, nah I don't think so but it's a fair defensive option and with PF as well it was fun to play :)

BM gets a lill more dex(shield stat) but hero get a bigger shield and don't get blockingpenalty before more then 3 ppl attack him/the one he is guarding.

edit: and as miril stated, they lack Mastery of Blocking, a good and needed RA for shieldusers.
