Afternoon

I need a little bit of help.

Got a pioneer 106 running a hacked firmware (was flashed over a month ago) under Windows XP (patched to the hilt).

If I put a cd/dvd in it I can read it fine, if i eject that disc and put a new one in I get "The parameter is incorrect" and have to reboot the PC to be able to read it. Not good.

Nero can see the session data on the disc so I know the drive can be read from and indeed written to. Just that I cannot access the "filesystem" on the drive.

Any ideas? It only started on Monday :(

//EDIT

ISOBuster can read the cd to an image
NERO track viewer can see data on the drive and I can make sense of it

Therefore the drive is working fine, just XP wont let me access it via explorer/cmd prompt.

ARGH!!!!!!!!

Have you tried removing the drive from Device manager and have windows redetect it?

Also check that it has UDMA enabled in the IDE Controller

Yes. I did everything but finally I have found the cause.

QCD somehow was locking the filesystem on the drive. Don't ask me how cos I don't know. I found the solution by accident cos i shutdown qcd and then found i could read all my cds.

Bloody thing. (And I had CD support disabled in QCD).

Thanks anyway!

Dont suppose you can try the drive in another PC, to make sure its XP being odd and not the drive its self?
