Need help buying hardware

I have £300 to get a new motherboard and DDR RAM

I just needed advice on the best one to get, for gaming and such

I'd go for any offering based on the Via KT333 chipset, preferable from Asus or Abit.

Stick that with RAM running at 333MHz and an Athlon XP and you are good to go.

I would go for the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP at £90, and a stick or two of 512MB Corsair DDR XMS2700 at £110 each.

With a gig of memory that takes you up to £310, so you might as well just go for 512MB (total £200) and spend the rest on Trebor Softfruits.
