Hi guys, i need a bit of help.

while i was sleeping it seems my old television blew out on me and i cant get it to work again.

what i need is help/advice on getting a new tv, my budget is probably around 200-400ish £'s.

if anyone has any good sites with good deals/offers/televisions/cinema systems or anything i would be greatfull.

help me !:(

only a few requirements its gotta have SCART capability for my Sky Digital box, i would like a flat screen if possable so i can mount it on the wall and it cant be a too small of a screen, maybe 25+ inchs, not to sure.

p.s i live in the UK, dont wanna import!

any help would be much appricated, and its off to google i go now.

Wrong forum ffs plz ok ffs!

www.unbeatable.co.uk is good for tv deals - my mate just got an astounding (one off, I'm sure) deal - 32" 100hz panasonic CRT flat screen, but not flat like you're thinking (LCD/Plasma).

I think for that budget you could get yourself a fairly good 28" CRT - if you're going for an LCD screen I doubt you'd get a very good one for that much, and it'd probably be pretty small. Then again, I've no idea about LCD tv's so I could be totally wrong.

Firstly, consider having your old one repaired. It could be as simple as the internal fuse.

Secondly, try the usual Dixons/Currys/Comet suspects, but go during the sales. Be prepared to haggle. In fact, if you don't haggle, you're a wuss, and should bow down and scrape right now. :)

Thirdly, try Ebay or the classifieds after Christmas. Lots of batchelor boys with Plasmas for xmas!

Is it possible to get a converter that turns a scart lead, into an aerial jobbie?
My dads TV is rather old (only has an aerial socket on the back), but I just brought him a DvD player for christmas. From what I can gather, a DvD player cant output into an aerial socket.:(

What you're talking about is an RF modulator. Maplin probably do 'em.

It would be cheaper to buy a crap old video recorder, use the SCART input on that, and output it on the RF.

Checking what's wrong with it is a good idea as suggested. My 28" widescreen set went and I had it looked at on the off chance. Turned out to be an £8 resistor. That and £30 labour and a lot of cash saved :)

Won't Macrovision make that impossible?
