Well, most of the forum users are AMD users, due to the extreme pricing Intel favours.;)

If you are keeping the same processor (I'm not really sure if you are or not), watch that the new mobo is the same socket. Apart from that, I can't recommend much, though DDR or RDR are the way to go, its time to leave SDR behind. 533MHz FSB is better than 400MHz, though price increases. I'd forget about extra features like serial ATA and USB 2.0 unless you are sure you are going to use them. It may look nice listed on the mobo, but you are paying extra for something you are unlikely to use. Treat RAID the same way, you pay an extra £15 for it, yet 99% of users will never use it.

RAID is great, it does ideally require two HDs exactly the same though :)

If, by not the best, you mean the worst mistake you could make would be to use them... then you would be correct!

(Look at me I have a whole comps worth of parts bought from them... gradually they're all dieing and they take at least a month to test and return each part... *sniff*)

Avoid

Dabs.com as well. Customer service stinks to high heaven. PC Zone seems to slate them every month. I dont think its a vendetta its just that they are cack

I've always found Dabs very good, and OCUK as well. I use Dabs for the weird stuff, and OCUK for most of my orders.

As well as Dabs and Scan, you can go for the smaller guys like Komplett and Tekheads, I've used eBuyer quite a lot and although their prices are great they have a very dodgy courier service (had to pick up stuff from the depot once).

I've never had a problem with Dabs, they were once a little slow to respond to emails when they sacked there entire tech support department to re-employ them under a different contract, but other than that

Another Dabs buyer here, just ordered a CD Writer from them yesterday and lots of other stuff in the past - never actually had to deal with them after making the order, everything always arrived when I expected it & never had to return any faulty parts

I have ordered lots of kit from CCL and they are very good, used to use Dabs for almost everything but now use CCL for any normal computing kit. CCL maybe have a smaller catalogue than Dabs but they are very nicely priced and reliable, only ever had 1 thing go wrong with anything I bought from them and that was replaced within half an hour after visiting the shop/warehouse (the benefit of living only 10 miles away from the shop).

I've sent stuff back to both Scan and Dabs.com, neither is exactly great.

Nope :-]

I did go with a friend once to get something swapped and they were fine about it.
