Right, this was discussed on the messageboard some time ago, but I've forgotten the details so Search is no help

A while back there was an incident on another messageboard where a forum reg had made up a wife, or girlfriend or best friend and over the course of a few years built up a relationship between them and lived out the lie.
He got a grip, and wanted to get back to normal life, so he killed her off - announcing her death on the messageboard to others who had become the made up girl's friends. A remberance website was set up, and so the story lies. Then, a while later, the guy came back and came clean about it, to a predictable reaction.

Now: I can't remember any of the names, or the links to the "coming clean" thread or anything like that - though I do know it was discussed on Barrys. Can anyone find me the link? Or remember anything else about it that I can search with?

I remember this briefly as well... No idea what it was called though

If you posted in it then try guessing the rough time it was posted and search through your posts, it may take awhile though :/
