Using Legendary weapons against necromacers, does it work?
Since they have a caster phobia wouldnt it be the same if I used a legendary bow with cold damage?

Nope their melee absorb is still stupidly high. Although I did hear a rumour if proc goes off they do better, never tested it.

The reason they got a caster phobia isn't because that their absorb is low vs spells (they have a much higher absorb than other pets, which is also proved with some testing on the vn mystic board somewhere iirc), but rather because they can't match the cast speed of proper casters, hence are worse off.

Even with Legendary weps, necros still too hard for melee. I think no point for melee class to jump on necro solo, with or without LGW.

What are you blabing about....

The reason necro's are afraid of other casters is because their pet is only level 44 or so... Which makes a level 50 caster (nearly) cap on all nukes, which means pet dies in 2-3 nukes... The way that a necro's qc works, makes it a bit shitty to try and get it off when needed, and by the time it fires, their dead...

Guess you are right there, bows doesnt do damage , arrows do, tested one yesterday and didnt find any reason at all to use it ever again unless they implement elemental arrows that can only be used by legendary bows... /salvage /cry

necro quick cast is easy to get off if u played it a while, 3 or 4 cast per 1 quick cast with red buffs, could be even more with toa bonus not sure.

Fact remains that spells do magic damage whilst legendary weapons do physical dmg calculated against magic resists.

Well, afaik, necro qc was nerfed either in 1.69 or 1.70 (not sure) and you can only get 2 spells at most. Personally I would find playing necro, but xping artifacts? Forget it, until they are 10lvl they will be 0% condition from the way necro equipment decays...

Right... And your experience with fighting buffed necros is exactly how vast? I mean... After all, you've only just rerolled mid and started whoring in a zone where they usually never show (Emain), unless they're fooling around on pappa's account.

I think I know a bit about game mechanics... I might not have played against buffed necro's a lot, I've played a buffed necro in rvr... Which is probably more then I can say about you... I also see how fast necro's that I do see in Emain (and Odin), die to our spiritmasters...

Fact is, the pet is counted as level 44 when it comes to spell damage... Fact also is that the qc might give them 3-4 spells fully buffed, it still has a small delay to actually firing... And even though +con spells also increase their magic absorb, it still doesnt make up for the pet being blue con... A pure DD'er should have NO trouble at all killing a necro before it gets off a QC...

If you do notice it doing a 'qc' on you, just run out of range (range is your friend, stay outside 750 range so it cant get its 'insta-lifetaps' off)... Necro's are easy kills for any caster that knows how to play a caster...

necro >>>>>> melee
magic >>>>>> necro

Its probably mythic's sick sence of balance...
