Bearshare is one of the best programs, I like it more than napster due to the information. HotlineHQ is crap and I won't be using it again.

Been using Bearshare, nice little program if a little greedy on the bandwidth.

Check out the tab that shows you what other users are looking for, some very dodgy searches going on!

Yes, I checked out BearShare just over a week ago - nice program, although I think Napster is far better if you're looking for MP3's, BearShare is perfect for any other file, although as has been mentioned, the transfer rate is pretty poor.

What's disturbing though is that you can stumble upon people's system files. I saw references to .INI and other files during searches, so security could be compromised - watch what directories you share!

Still, worth downloading if you're interested in the "darker" side of the net.

Napster has let people share cookies n stuff so it wasn't perfect. Read something about it. Can't remember where though

WOW, Bearshare is a lot faster than Napster.

Didn't really try d/ling sommit after i got it. I am doing somthing at 30KB/s and i never went above 6 on Napster.

Not just one off because it has done this for the 3 songs i have got useing it.

Yeah these share programs are ok, but on most of them, the thing is most people don't share. The great thing about napster was people actually do. If you realy wana get some great stuff, sign up for as many fxp boards as you find. Help a few people out with stuff you have, then people will let you onto there private dumps, i get loads of great tv rips, music, and movies that way

If you dont want to quit using Napster, download Napigator (thanks to the person in black and white), and still use Napster, but choose one of the growing unofficial servers, choose by ping, amount of mp3s, amount of users etc.

You find a person that likes something you like, and with his fast line he has already leeched loads of stuff from irc and stuff, or done things himself.

Thats one topic sorted, then you find another bloke with an ftp

Your right i never use any of it Ohh and pea, irc is pretty shitty these days, fservers nearly allways make you wait, and if you get a leech acount from a trigger, it's slots are nearly allways full
Scanning is the way m8, find some good pubs, fill it with crap, spam it at the decent fxp boards, and watch it fill
Downside, one the sysop, and two those lame deleting folk

Esp at LAN's when people trade usefull things with me for them

Kurt, I suggest you find a real IRC network

And when you are the sysop, you can get around most issues.

Now i have used Bearshare properly, i have found it is pretty shite. Not the program but the people. No one is wiling to share files.

Owning the film though is a plus point. Now iv'e watched it, ill just forget it exists, and download the next one
