Name Bug

[Carfax]

I created a character on Eclipse yesterday, and decided to recreate him, but after deleting him, I couldn't get the same name back!

I don't know if it is the same on the Euro servers, but I don't plan on finding out!

Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Had the same problem with my char on Bria, had to find another name.

It's a pain in the ass, but if it didn't happen then I guess I'd never have created a totally white Wookiee called "Yeti".

Anyway.

I've submitted a ticket and we'll see what happens. I'll keep you informed.

yeh once a name has been used on a server, that name cant be used again... dont see why the same name cant be used on another server thou.

You could request a name change from a CSR ingame if u can be assed waiting for them to reply

The name stays reserved for a little amount of time incase they would have to restore that character for any reason, just a saftey backup i guess, no idea how long the name is reserved though.

Well I emailed CS and this is the reply I got:


"Unfortunately the name filter is designed to allow only a single use of
a name per server. This means that once a name has been used it is no
longer available, even if the original character with that name has been
deleted.

There are currently no plans to revise this feature."


So, thats about the size of it!

Well there is no real reason to recreate a character if you are happy with the race and the sex. I mean those are about the only things Image Designer cant change.
