My PC Is Busted

Well I say Mine and busted. Basically a mate of mine has just had a PC built to the following spec

AMD Duron 1.1Ghz Proc
Windows Me
PC CHips 810 LMR Mobo
256 Mb PC133 SDRAM
Maxtor 40Gb HDD
LG CD/RW 48x12x48

It uses the onboard GPU

After about half an hour the system begins to progressively slow down to a halt. Which as far as I am aware is annoying to say the least. I have tested the RAM that appears to be OKand I have ran quite a few benchmark tests and the reports indicate the system is OK. Any suggestions before the said PC is thrown out of the window:confused:

Half an hour of just running, or half an hour of opening apps/games?
Perhaps you need more memory?

try running msconfig from the start --> Run option and remove all "unnecessary" programs.

I experienced slowdown before I shut down all unnecessary applicaitons.

It would appear to be whilst running progs. We could add more memory. I suggested this to the techie people where the parts were bought from but they said anything over 512Mb PC133 RAM on Me Is not the best option

I would agree, but you only have 256Mb :)
Just a thought.
