hi all

my pc has a virus on it, so basically when i switch it on it just goes on to the login screen and freezes ,

i went on a trouble shooter and it says that i have a virus use the format disc to fix it

but . . . my format disc is snapped , cant remember how that happened

so is there anything i can do to fix it or will i have to buy another ?

Try and get a friend to download a program called Seagate, It will format your system and ask which windows you want to install etc.

Not sure what you mean by this Oo
Are you saying you have a system restore disk like erm, the harddrive image thats supplied with Tiny/PC World machines?

You dont mention your OS either
If its XP then you can enter your bios and set the first boot device to CD-ROM and boot from the CD. XP has a rather nice Format/Partioning function build into it :)

Assuming you have an actual OS disk, rather than a restore disk, and a friend who lives near by you could nip round his house.
Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, Startup Disk.
This will make you a bootable disk which will give you access to your C: CDROM and various tools such as FDISK and Format.
