Have you installed the drivers for your new monitor? More info required:

Monitor type (make, model)
Operating System ect.

Hmmm...

All a monitor "driver" is is a list of refresh rates that your monitor can display. However it could be something to do with this... if you've got a "default driver", and you're asking it to run at a higher refresh rate than it thinks it can cope with, your monitor will switch itself off to protect itself from burning out.

Is your computer overclocked... when I overclock my K6-2 450 to 112 x 4.5 it works but at 5.0 the screen won't come on sometimes.
Then again, I have a Geforce GTS 2 and a 2x AGP port and a 14" monitor, so I can't comment.
Try installing the drivers with ur old monitor plugged in ... or just call techy support, it must be under warranty phone up and ask for known compatibility issues

Stu is absoloutly correct. It has nothing to do with whether or not your pc is overclocked.

Monitors do that whehn they recieve an image signal that is either a) too high refresh rate or b) too high resoloution.

The first wouldn't be the issue I'd guess, it's the second. Go into CS, drop the resoloution down to 640x480.

Bet it works
