my monitor is too dark please help!!

ive recently got a "hansol" make monitor and its too flipping dark, i used to use a program called "Dark Adapt" but i had a major virus and had to reinstall my WHOLE comp, can anyone please post a link or tell me where i can go to get an easy to use brightening program?
