well after a long play time and 7 level 50 char i can say thet GOA
make OVERPOWERED char in meaning to ppl make them = time = money !!

after the wave = 2-3 Patch from the OVERPOWERED char they make a new 1 !!

If I understand correctly, the point is that Mythic deliberately let overpowered chars slip into the game, knowing that people will gravitate towards them and play the game for longer because they have a strong char. Then out comes the nerfbat after they've been playing for some time and thwack, you're beaten down and off they go to play whatever is the new strong char for their chosen realm.

Given DAoC's track record, this premise might have some basis in fact but we'll never know for sure.

He claimed he leveled 7 chars to 50... my guess would be that he did that on English servers? One would think you would at least pick up _some_ basic English during that time. Beside that I am German. I dont expect everyone to speak my language.

My point is: If you have a point to make on these boards or anywhere else where English is used and it is NOT your language then use a dictionary... and if you dont manage then use at least some punctuation.
I dont mind spelling or grammar errors. I make them too. But this user put zero effort into his post and thats what I find scary... because he is probably awaiting useful replies.

Maybe he's leveld those 7 50's in a guild where they speak his native language and only group with those people? Or maybe he just went solo att the way to 50 with all 7 chars, there are people that enjoys that too.

And just how do you know if he's put an effort in or not? Maybe he tried to make the post in good english but lack the basic english skills.
You shoulden't flame people because they don't know a language when they post a thread or reply to a post.
Not everyone is smart/gifted or whatever with language, some have a real easy time learning others haven't.
Give him a break, encourage him to learn to maybe check his spelling ect if you feel that he really needs it, but do it in a friendly way instead of saying something stupid.

if Mythic care anything about the game they would've fixed all the bugs before SI and hopefully all the SI bugs before ToA, and hopefully all the ToA bugs before the next expansion.

Its extremely rare I'm disappointed in my fellow Mids but guys... scoring cheap points off someone who plays in the same realm as you is unworthy.

Maybe I've missed some axe getting ground because I don't know some background. Maybe I'm missing something thats gone around on IRC or maybe simply other forums have had stuff hosted and you lot have spotted it and I've never seen it.

I was fairly hopefull that withe the SB-nerf Mythic would leave the Midgard FOTM-classes savage and bonedancer alone but now it seems they've at begun whacking the savage with the nerfbat. If they bring out big nerf for the bonedancer as well Im fairly sure I would drop this game like a bad habit. (i hope)

I really liked these boards and usually you can get a laugh and good info here but seeing people flame this and flame that really is getting a bit boring now... Furthermore the amount of postfarming/spam as alot of the stuff above is almost getting out of hand as well... well at least I think so.

You scare me. Let people post, if you can't stand to read, skip it. He/she was in no shape or form offensive, just enjoying the common sport of vent and rant (about GOA/Mythic).

For the original question, I think it's very common with new expansions to existing games to bring out more powerfull items, classes, zones etc in order to make even all the old players feel the need to purchase an upgrade. Attract people now, apply nerf later. Imbalances with older classes are just propably bad balancing work

Things like these are highlighted in all online games, but especially PvP games like this, where everything is very competitive by nature and people spend time comparing their items, zones and classes to others.

Please try to go back to what he was saying instead of looking at the way it is written hehe.

I think he is right, the new characters are stronger at the start, and when there are enough of them, they get nerfed.

But I don't understand why its so important to everyone. If you have played a character to his level 50 and some of the possibilities you have gets lowered, well then it is sad, but since we all have quite some alts we can chose another one for whatever we want to do, till we find out what is the best way to play the nerfed one.

Honestly I don't care. If my sm is not good for rvr anymore I can always take her hunting. Or start a new one and try that one out.

At least its all about having fun, isn't it.

Maybe it's jsut that is SO HARD to balance classes that it will be a never ending cycle of nerf and buff. Maybe it's cos we ahve so fewer classes there are fewer perms of successful groups amking one build of class seem overpowered....
