My e-mail to freeserve

Dear Freeserve
I am sending this message with great frustration and annoyance.
I use the internet at least 3 times a week and have found that your service is sinking to unsatisfactory levels of inadequecy. Your internet connections are slow and unreliable, today i found myself being disconnected 3 times in 10 minutes which leads me to question why? Am i spending too much time on the internet? No the 2 hour cut off prevents that. Do i look on unsavoury sites? No my main site is a popular forum. Is it the preferential treatment that other customers with bigger pockets get? Yes. Your customer service is appalling, you encourage people to upgrade to a more expensive service and leave the families and people who cannot afford to upgrade with a poor and unreliable service.
Why does this happen, why do other customers get treated better? Why has your service gradually degraded to such shocking unreliability?
Expecting an answer

Dear Craig

Thank you for your recent email regarding your Freeserve account. We always appreciate feedback, though we are saddened that, in your case, your views of Freeserve are somewhat negative.

We have always striven to maintain the highest standards of service and we pride ourselves on our track record, which we feel speaks for itself. In your case however, we have failed you. And for that I will always be sorry. We offer you a service which you have deemed to be below par. I shall teach my children to be sorry for every day of their lives, as soon as they come into being.

As I'm sure you are aware, the customer sits at the very pinacle of the company heirachy. Sitting above us, looking down on your lowly employees with (I like to think) a sense of pride and (dare I say it? I dare!) fatherly admiration. Your message has destroyed this already fragile image which I like to nuture during cold days here at my booth. I'm am reminded of a story I once heard at Sunday School which featured a mountain and God, or Moses, or someone very important looking down and proclaiming to the masses with vengance and wrath in the air. I forget the story as I was too busy dreaming of the perfect customer-based company at the time. The irony makes me weep a little, but I have standards to maintain, so I'll weep when I get to my cold, dank hovel.

I sat in silence for an hour thinking how I could make this up to you. How could I make things right again? What would I have to do? I sat and held my breath until I passed out, hoping for a vision, perhaps. I could think of nothing. Nothing could possibly repair the damge you have suffered at my hands. My Freeserve hands. My tainted, stained hands.

As much as I've tried I cannot turn back time, nor can I return the time you have lost. There is nothing I could possibly give to you, Craig, in return. I shall therefore take my own life to prevent this hideousness from ever occuring again. I shall, of course, find the quietest, most secluded place I can to ensure I do not inconvenience anybody else the way I have so horribly inconvenienced you. With luck, my body will be remain lost and left to whatever devices nature sees fit to use on it. If any at all.

Once again, Craig. Freeserve apologises for this unforgivable world in which we find ourselves.

May God bless you.

obo. Freeserve.

You actually think your complaining will do anything? Simply take them to court for thousands of pounds. :)

Absolutely. Nildram have been the only ISP I've been 100% happy with. What's more they charge me £15/month less than when I first signed up with them.

Nildram = teh win!

BTO are fine, I had tons of problems before I bothered to sort out ACPI and the Via 4 in 1s, since doing that I've only experienced maybe 2 drops where it was impossible to get on at all.

BTO.

i've been a BTO dsl customer for over a year now...
it's become tremendously more reliable, faster, cheaper... nowadays i only experience a couple of drops every other month, and i do know for a fact this is because of continuing maintenance that keeps the service working well... so i'm hardly complaining that i have to take approx ten seconds to go to the web interface of my router, and click on the dial button, wait 3 secs for it to connect, and away i go.. am i?

I ordered an ADSL modem from www.microwarehouse.co.uk on 24th may, still not got it, not gonna get until 14th(they say). They've quoted three delivery dates(3rd, 7th and 13th) and two have been missed. I went to look at the manufacturers site and they've not shipped them yet! grr they said "in 1-3 days" :(

</grumble>

Cancel it, fella! Try another supplier like Scan, Overclockers.co.uk, Overclockers UK or Dabs.

I complained to Tiscali once. Nothing came of it.

Thats all.

Actually, they did reply, and informed me how to set up my connection properly. Strangley enough, when I followed the steps they gave me, I had to change nothing.

I am an IT wizard.
