Cant say I can see the facination of th new Dr Who, the acting is poor, the GFX are right out of Blue Peter and the actors right out of a pantomime. Heck even the 1970's versions were far superior. Billy Piper had sense to leave the show and go do porn instead, best move shes made as she couldnt act, had shite taste in men and sung like a strangled cat. And now the 3rd(?) new Doctor is leaving too....pffft.

I always look at films like Star Wars and Blade Runner to compare, not massive budget films by any means, but their SFX put the BBCs piss poor efforts to shame, in fact my 15 year old sons IT class could put together better using fuzzy felt and flash5

Its supposed to look cheap and low budget and the acting is supposed to be a bit on the rubbish side, its part of the charm.
