My computer restarting..

When im in NF / ToA (most in NF) my computer restarting when Porting and Release... Useing Windows 2k Computer: Intel Celeron, CPU 2.66GHz 512 DDR ram, Gfx card ASUS RADEON A9600XT, And 40 GB harddisk 13 GB used.. can anyone see something that could make my computer restarting? ty...

I had a similar problem before and it was down to network card which was a Netgear FA311. Problem was caused my a microsoft driver for the network card. Loaded the Netgear driver and problem ceased.

Also people have had similar problems I belive when hardware checksumming switched on. Go into properties advanced for network card and switch it to Off.

There were some problems on release of ToA where people would crash out when using the portal stones or releasing.

Turned out to be the NIC driver for the network card, or modem they were using. Maybe look for an updated driver - and run windows update ?

turn of 'Hardware Checksumming' or 'Checksum Offload' in the properties of your network card.

Check the event viewer see what has been logged there. Do you have EZfirewall? if you have, check if the truevector service stopped in event viewer, I had this problem and discovered EZfirewall was causing it, i removed it and never had a problem since. Worth a look anyway!!!

Meant Zonealarm not EZ firewall, think they the same anyhoo!!!

Check other threads, im sure this has been reported many many many times by various people. If I remember correctly it was down to network card drivers.
