Watched that last year. Though entertaining it makes you think how sink holes like these can occur in a modern society. All they did were crimes to fund the fights that has been going on for years now. The guy who made the docu has followed and filmed them for ten years.. Wtf?

On the other hand many of the travellers had jobs in last nights programme. Iirc James was a foreman in construction when not training to fight. Won't be much of that work now though.

If I was living in Ireland I'd be more worried about tinkers/knackers record on road safety than anything else :/

Biggest problem with them on the road is horses; either let loose or kids riding/trotting them; little bastards don't give a fuck about cars. Having said that, Irish drivers are terrible anyway, so its a match made in heaven.

I'm conflicted about Travellers in general, in the main I think they're 90% pikey scumbags, but then the ones who do want to integrate/settle are rarely given a fair chance to do so (there's an ongoing story going on here about access to schools for example), so the bleeding-heart liberal in me (yes there is one) finds that a bit troubling.

It would be a lot more convenient if the world was seperated into good/evil but the other way does make things interesting. I guess thats why people like heroic fantasy - everythings morally simplistic unlike the real world.

Well having spent many of my teenage years trying to avoid being mugged or "maced" by Knackers I find it very very hard to have any sympathy for them.

State that they are a seperate people and operate within their own set of laws and principles one minute, claim travellers rights the next.

Couple of summers back I was down the garage getting new tyres fitted to my motorbike. Couple of toothless pikeys stroll up and check out the bikes parked up all waiting for tyre changes. Then bold as brass, they nick one, get it started, pull a few wheelies, and ride off with it. A few minutes later a policeman rides up on his BMW 1200 to get his tyres done, told him what happened, he looked up at me and just shrugged, rolled a ciggy, laid back on his bike and closed his eyes! WTF!

My husband loves to say the same thing about Gypsy, Roma Travellers.
I only ask one think of Travellers.... that they travel.
As with everything -some good, some bad -same with FH -you always get the good, the bad and the ugly.
