Aye, i'm the bassist for both.

/Edit: I wrote the song Avalon for Alice Door and YES as you can probably guess it is about the Avalon we all know and love in DAoC.

i dont know if the mic is too loud compared the intstruments, but the singer just doesnt sound right for some reason

Perhaps because his voice is too "clean" for the type of music? also he loses the higher notes

No offence meant from this, as you guys have talent i just dont like the lead singers voice

lead vocalist isnt very good if i was to be harsh, his voice goes off key quite alot and as said before he doesnt carry songs very well

The lead guitarist also tends to be off when he is trying something beyond him (example missing note, playing slower than everyone else as he is doing something too difficult)

It has the recorded in the bedroom sound to it, but that is kind of expected unless you fork out alot of money to go into a studio

Other than that i cant see how it would be classified as awful

my personal opinion that the playing of all the instruments in question in both bad is either completely uninspired or just plain bad. agree/disagree, i don't care.

Personally I'd say that ROTP's music is quite bland, but maybe only because I try to intergrate a few different styles into the music me and my mates jam. Adding a 3 minutes epic jazz breakdown into the middle of a thrash metal song isnt always the best option, for example, but I try and find a suitable place for it.

Of course, liking music is completely personal and I'd be buggered if anyone is going to change my music taste, but all im suggesting is to maybe broaden your horizons collectively.

A good example of quite an odd band (odd as in, what they take their influences from) is Between the Buried and Me.

I'd say the main weaknesses in the band is the lead vocalist, and as chronic mentioned, the lead guitarist seems to try stuff thats beyond him.

it seems like a complete "Dad" kind of thing to say, but Have fun!

Same for yourself since you responded on every other thread concerning music in a very twattish way and put yourself as someone who thinks that if they don't think it's good then the rest of the world must think the same otherwise their opinion doesn't matter.

Just to add I thought it was rich coming from you who sent me some music a few years back and you proclaimed it to be the best thing since sliced bread and when I said it was wank you ended up calling me a twat and immediately left the irc channel. Cest la vie.

Everyone else has posted criticism but in a more contructive way and I value their opinions, much like Chronics posts, unlike yourself who just basically posts like a regular sanctimonious ****.

As for everyone else, yes the vocalists are somewhat weak on some of them I myself don't think highly of my brothers singing voice but respect his guitar work immensely.

We've only just begun and we're starting to get gigs prepped and working on new material all round, I dont think Rise of the phoenix has found the 'sound' just yet but we're working on it.
