... GF2's, is there much difference and is the 400 worth the few quid more in comparison?

Doesnt the 200 have 32mb memory and the 400 have 64?
If that is the case I would certainly go for the 400

I believe the MX 200 is 32MB and the MX400 is 64MB which is worth it if you play at higher res.

However I wouldn't buy just yet as all prices are likely to tumble when the GF4 hits the streets.

I know that you over sized fat lump However with the GF4 due the end of this month in shops etc the prices are likely to drop throughout this month in regards to other cards

I imagine the price of my gf3 will fall quite a bit <sob> but GF2's aint going down too much more are they. And if he's buying one think of the card he must be replacing, a voodoo 3 or something?

I can max out at £100 really cuz i dont believe in spending shite loads on hardware but i wont get a gf3 for that right away when the prices fall...

MX200 is the older style. The MX400...I don't know the technical difference but the bench marks I looked at made the mx400 appear around 75% faster in some cases.

Oh and the MX400 comes in two flavours of 32mb and 64mb.

The MX400 is basically the old MX with a slightly higher core clock and the ability to have 32 or 64 meg.

The MX200 is a crippled MX with a 64bit memory interface bus (as opposed to 128) meaning it has HALF the memory bandwidth of the MX400.

MX200 is utter shit. Avoid it like the plague unless you play NO 3d games

GF4 MX is quite different. Still mainly a GF2 design (which means it sucks for next-gen games) but the 440 and the 460 have DDR memory and so should perform like GF2 Pros and Ultras. The 420 is just like an enhanced 400 tho because it uses SDR memory.

MX400 is ok. Wait for a GF4 MX 440 and it'll be a lot better for a little more.

Or save up about 150 quid for a GF4 Ti 4200 and you'll have really good card

I got a mx400 last Tuesday, £56, gives 99fps mostly (apart from on Survivor when it drops to about 70).

Nice enough for me.
