Music to remember...

Hmm I've been thinking... (true!!)

I still listen to a lot of old music from my dads generation. The generation of love hehe.
Stuff like:
Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd etc. etc.

But what kind of music do you think our kids and the next few generation will listen to - that were made in our time.
Metallica perhaps?

Will depends on the parents, IF I have kids they'll be brought up on stuff like Metal/Rock/SOME classical/SOME chart music... My music taste is generally quite wide, so hoping the kids will be.

Stuff like Floyd, Straights, Zepp, Tallica, AC/DC etc will be the big ones for people like me (kid wise) since they were the biggest bands for me, also, the music never really gets boring.

Classical too, ofc. xD

Yeah, I'll agree with you on that. Floyd/Jackson etc will be classical. (They ARE classics already)

I still think people from future generations will listen to hendrix, pink floyd, clapton, beatles, rolling stones, led zeppelin etc. I just can't see it getting old. I mean people still listen to classical music and jazz from ages ago. Can't really think of many memorable bands from these times, i guess metallica for the metal fans, perhaps stuff like Oasis? Not a great fan myself but they are pretty big. I seriously can't see bands like arctic monkeys holding a place in history books

Not sure... Only chart music I can see still being remembered in 20 years will be stuff like Coldplay, Snow Patrol etc.. But who knows.

Nobody, that is why it might be interesting

I hope stuff like Rage Against the Machine will fuel the youth to come and inspire them to work for a better world.
But Michael Jackson will ofc last rather long... And metallica as said before.

I would say Madness and The Specials are the well known ska bands, so I guess they will always be remembered.
