Looking for stuff similar to the Stone Roses now, suggestions and opinions welcomed, especially Bahamut's sarcastic comments

Jeez thats a tough call, there ain't many bands who can come close to the Stone Roses and even fewer that play a similair style. Perhaps you should make a start with Ian Brown's solo stuff and even look for The Seahorses album which was written and performed on by John Squire. As both of them are former Stone Roses some of thier solo work does tend to have 'Stone Roses' flavour to it. Other than that I can't think of any others off the top of my head, will have a think about it and get back to you.

Depends on how close to the Stone Roses you want really. Like Chodax said they were very much a class of their own.

Ian Brown's solo stuff is probably your best bet. You might also want to try The Verve's early stuff, The Charlatans might float your boat as well.

Not sure what else I can recommend really.
