i beg to differ - muppets are from the muppet show which was created by Jim Henson. Sesame street has no muppets in it and was created by PBS

"muppets" is the collective name for the puppets used in both shows, kermit appeared in sesame street as well BTW.

You are wrong.

"Muppets" is the creation of Jim Henson, they were used in a few shows before Sesame Street, such as the Ed Sullivan Show, they have always been known as Muppets way before the Muppet Show.
